@MemTigersTF_XC Women's Pole Vault Record Set at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga.-The Unvierstiy of Memphis women's track and field squad competed in its final regular season meet at the Georgia Tech Invitational, on Friday and Saturday. For the athletes, it was a final chance to improve their standing on the NCAA East Qualifying Lists.
Carolina Carmichael set a new program-record in the pole vault clearing 4.18m (13'8.5") for a second place finish. Carmichael broke teammate Sabrina Hochreuther's record of 4.15m (13'7.25") set earlier this season.
In other field events, Chardae Greenlee took ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.18m (39'11.5"). Vivian Brandhoff and Britta Jaarats placed in order fourth and fifth in the shot put with Brandoff landing at 15.05m (49'4.5") and Jaarats at 14.72m (48'3.5"). Brandoff also took 11th in the discus with a throw of 44.64m (146'5").
On the track, Maya Williamson took 10th in the 400m hurdles in a time of 59.67. In the 400m dash, Destinee Lansden placed 29th with a time of 55.81. DaQuanya Byrd-West ran in two races for the Tigers clocking a time of 12.22 in the 100m preliminary round and notching at time of 24.75 (27th) in the 200m.
