Despite the extreme heat and the loss of No. 1 runner Lilly Lebron due to injury, the University
of Memphis women's cross country team finished fourth out of nine competing teams at the two-mile
Plough Park Invite, Friday.
Memphis, which finished with 128 points, was led by junior Wendy Ragle. (Duncanville, TX) Ragle finished 14th with
a time of 12:58 for the two-mile run. Freshman Katie Moore (Austin, TX/Westlake) crossed the line second for the
Lady Tigers and 23rd overall in a time of 13:25.
The top five scorers were rounded out by sophomore Katie Bondeson (Lakeville, MN) in 29th, newcomer
Leslie Daley in 30th and sophomore Andrea Dahlman (Memphis, TN/St. Agnes Academy) in 32nd.
Walk-on freshman Laura Clark (Collierville, TN) was three finishers behind Dahlman in 35th place in a time of 14:09.00.
Southeast Missouri's Amy Arteme won the meet, helping SEMO to the team title with 23 points.
The Lady Tigers will step up their training this week and have an off weekend. Their next meet
will be a UT-Chattanooga, Sept. 16th.
