Women's Team Places 7th and Men's team finish 9th at Old Timers Classic

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Old Timers Classic, in Bowling Green, Ky. Saturday, September 15, 2007. The women's team had an overall 7th place finish and was led by sophomore Anneli Uys, while the men's team finished 9th overall with sophomore Jorgen Ekdahl leading the way.

Sophomore Anneli Uys crossed the line first for the Lady Tigers in a time of 18:46.24 in 24th place. Following her was junior Emily Malinowski 30th 19:02.41, sophomore Tina Sherratt 34th 19:13.25, and freshmen Lyndsey Rastasiewicz 61st 20:58. 12 and Jessie Wilks 85th 22:44.06.

Ekdahl was the first Tiger to cross the line in a time of 27:39.33, followed by junior Juan Arboleda 55st 28:06.21, freshman Wesley Garrett 28:15.10, senior Sam James 62nd 28:28.49 and freshman Joe Coneo Jr. 66th 28:38.01 rounding out Memphis' top five finishers.

Both men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday, September 22, 2007 on the road in Little Rock, Ark. at the UALR Open.
