Women's Cross Country Places Eighth at Rhodes Invite

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - The University of Memphis women's cross country team got to run a second time on their home course, finishing 8th out of 14 teams at the Rhodes College Cross Country Invitational, Saturday. Senior Wendy Ragle led the Lady Tigers with a 17th place overall finish, covering the 5K course in 20:10. Fellow senior Hayley Futrell finished 38th in 21:23, while Sue Ann Bowen cross the line 46th overall in 21:52. Karin Brooks finished 49th in 22:01, while Heather Woolls, running her first meet for the Lady Tigers, rounded out the scorers with a 72nd place finish in 24:00. Titian Rose-Whittle and Keenan Gibson also competed in the meet for Memphis, finishing 79th and 83rd, respectively in 25:02 and 26:20. Both cross country teams return to action next Saturday at Southern Illinois-Carbondale.
