Carbondale, Ill.-- - The University of Memphis women's cross country team finished eighth out of 10 participating schools at the Saluki Invitational, Saturday.

Junior Wendy Ragle (Duncanville, Texas/Duncanville) led the Lady Tigers with a 24th-place finish in a time of 19:10 over the 5K course. Junior Lilly Lebron (New York, NY/Martin Luther) finished 31st in 19:39 while teammate Leslie Ann Daley finished 40th in 20:11.

The remainder of the Lady Tiger pack remained close with finishes in 51st, 61st and 67th. Host Southern Illinois won the meet with 37 points, while Tennessee Tech finished second with 87 points.

The Lady Tigers return home to host the Tiger Invitational, Oct. 14th, as a kick-off to the homecoming celebration. The race will be held at Plough Park in Shelby Farms.
