TULSA, Okla. - A young squad of Lady Tigers competed in the 2010 Conference USA Cross Country Championships, Monday, with the result being a 10th-place team finish.

Freshman Ellen Kildal, a Skien, Norway native, led the Lady Tigers in the five-kilometer race with a finishing mark of 18:37. It marks the second year in a row that a freshman led the Lady Tigers, after Kayleigh Brown finished 50th in 2009.

Following Kildal was junior Jasmine Darden, who was the second-best runner for the Lady Tigers at the C-USA Championships for the third time in her career. Darden finished the 2010 race in 18:39.

Freshman Jenny Johnston was just behind Kildal and Darden. The Middle Island, New York native was 53rd with an 18:39 mark.

Sophomore Louisa Lingley (68th, 19:16) and freshman Ida Fillingsnes (70th, 19:25) rounded out the scoring for the U of M.

UTEP sophomore Kisper Rimaiyo repeated as overall champion on the women's side, finishing in 16:27. Host Tulsa captured the overall women's championship, scoring 27 points as a five-person group.
