TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The 2012 University of Memphis cross country season came to a close at the NCAA South Region Championship, on Friday. The men's squad finished ninth of 26 teams in the 10K, while the women finished 19th of 29 teams in the 6K.

The men's overall ninth place finish is an all-time program best at the NCAA South Regional Championship. Daniel Kuhman was the top finisher for the men finishing 24th with a time of 31:18.90. For his performance Kuhman took home All-Region honors.

James Maglasang was second for the men finishing 37th at a time of 31:51.50. Austin Carter (32:33.70), Julien Wolf (32:38.40), Fabian Fiege (32:46.70) finished 68th, 73rd and 82nd respectively. Aidan Galasso (33:10.80) and Stephen Tankersley (35:05.40) rounded out the field for the men finishing 102nd and 140th.

In the women's 6K, Louisa Lingley was the top finisher in 70th place with a time of 21:38.80. Nandia Taylor was second for the women in 85th with a time of 21:54.10. Jenny Johnston (22:12.30), Alisha Fitch (22:18.90) and Meagan Nichols (23:02.30) rounded out the filed for the women finishing 107th, 111th and 143rd respectively.
