Track & Field travels to compete at ASU Indoor Meet

The Memphis Women's Track team will travel to Jonesboro, Ark. Saturday to compete in the Arkansas State University Invitational. The two-day meet gets underway in ASU's Convocation Center at 3 p.m. Friday with the final event scheduled for 7 p.m. Action gets underway again Saturday at 10 a.m. and should end at 4:45 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will compete in a field of 23 teams. Men's and women's teams competing include Memphis, Alabama State, Alabama-Huntsville, Alcorn State, Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Little Rock, Austin Peay, Christian Brothers, Grambling State, Harding, Jackson State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Mississippi Valley State, Missouri-Rolla, Murray State, Rhodes, Southeast Missouri State, Southern Illinois, Southwest Missouri State, Tennessee-Martin and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The meet will mark the first action for the Lady Tigers in the 2003 calendar year.
For the Lady Tigers, the 2003 squad features a good group of sprinters and jumpers. Lisa-Marie Hyman is expected to have an stellar year which began by setting a meet record in the triple jump at the ASU Kickoff Classic with a jump of 40'01.00. The junior from Kingston, Jamaica is poised to become a top jumper in C-USA this spring.
