@MemTigersTF_XC Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-The University of Memphis men's and women's cross country teams both earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams honors, the organization announced on Friday. This marked the third consecutive year that both programs have achieved the distinction.
"I am very pleased to have another tremendous academic honor given to both our men's and women's cross country programs," head cross country/track and field coach Kevin Robinson said. "I am very happy to see their hard work, dedication and perseverance rewarded."
To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams status, the program must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater. Additionally, the team must have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship during the most recent cross country season.
The women's squad posted a 3.68 GPA, tying them for sixth among the 217 Division I women's teams to receive the honor. At the NCAA South Regional Championship, the Lady Tigers started seven runners finishing 23rd of 27 teams. Southern Miss posted the highest GPA of the women's honorees at 3.79.
On the men's side, the Tigers posted a GPA of 3.14, earning the honor among 160 men's Division I programs. At the NCAA South Regional, Memphis started seven runners finishing 15 of 26 teams. UT-Chattanooga posted the highest men's GPA at 3.71.
