Lady Tigers Split Squad this Weekend
Feb. 15, 2003 FAYETTEVILLE, ARK.- Lisa-Marie Hyman and Monique Nelson represented Memphis in the Tyson Invitational this weekend. The meet consisted of more than 20 schools and a number of the best individual track athletes nation-wide competed in the meet. Hyman finished 15th in the triple jump with a mark of 37'08.00. That mark was well below her indoor PR of 41'05.00. However, the experience of competing against some of the nation's best jumpers will benefit Hyman as she prepares for conference championships later this month. Nelson finished 13th in the shotput with a throw of 43'03.75.
CARBONDALE, ILL.- The Lady Tigers also sent several athletes to Southern Illinois to compete in the SIU Invitational. Keenan Gibson won the 55m dash with a time of 7.08 setting a personal and new Memphis school record. Teammate Chanel Dunn placed 4th in the 55m dash with a time of 7.24.
Lindsay Cade added to the Lady Tigers success placing 5th in the High Jump with a mark of 5"03.
