MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Distance runner Lauren Berry out of Southlake, Texas has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the University of Memphis women's track and field team, head coach Kevin Robinson announced on Wednesday.

"I am very happy to announce the signing of Lauren Berry to our program," Robinson said. "Lauren is a very competitive distance running athlete, who will provide depth to our cross country roster, as well as being a force on the track."

Berry was a letterwinner and four year member of the varsity cross country team at Carroll High School. Running for cross country coach Justin Leonard, she helped Carroll High win state championships in 2011 and 2012.

Off of the field, Berry has been honored as a Success Scholar in Spanish and community service. Berry also participates in the National Charity League and on the Journalism University Interscholastic League Team. She is the daughter of Patricia and Michael Berry.
