Vanderbilt Black and Gold Live Results

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Memphis track and field squads return to action at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational on Friday. The Tigers look to improve as the team progresses into the second outdoor meet of the 2013 season.

"What we are trying to do right now is just train through the first couple of meets and prepare ourselves for the second half of the season and the championship season," head track and field coach Kevin Robinson said. "The weather has not been overly cooperative and we have not had a lot of quality training yet. We're working the kids really well and they are responding, but it's going to take some time before performances on the track really reflect that."

The meet kicks-off Friday at 4 p.m. with the hammer (men followed by women), shot put (women followed by men), triple jump (men followed by women) and men's pole vault. Only two running events are scheduled for day one with the 1500m invitational set for 6 p.m. (CT) (men followed by women) and 3000m invitational at 6:30 p.m. (men followed by women).

Day two of the meet will resume at 10 a.m. (CT) with remaining field events, with all remaining running events set to start at 11 a.m. (CT). Results from both days of the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational will posted of GoTigersGo.com as they are made available.
