MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Sophomore track & field/cross country runner Meagan Nichols has been named to the Capital One All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team. The team, voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) membership, recognizes top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Nichols competed in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field while sporting a cumulative grade-point-average of 4.0 majoring in journalism. Nichols' many academic honors from this year include, among others, being named to the Conference USA Cross Country All-Academic Team, receiving the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal and being named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

During the 2012 cross country season, Nichols competed in all six meets for the Tigers notching her highest finish of 15th in the 5K at the Rhodes College Invitational. In 2013 indoor track and field competition, Nichols ran a season-best in the 3,000m scoring a 14th place finish of 10:50.85 at the McCravy Invitational. In outdoor track & field, Nichols notched a personal-best of 11:30.78 in the 3,000m steeple chase at the C-USA Outdoor Championship.
