Sivan Aballi Named Co-SIDA Academic All-District First Team Honoree

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - Senior women's track and field athlete Sivan Aballi was voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team it was announced Thursday. It is Aballi's second straight first team honor after also earning first team honors last season and will advance her to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America ballot. This is the second academic honor in a week for Aballi, who was the lone Conference USA female track and field athlete to be named to the C-USA All-Academic Team on Tuesday. Aballi was also named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar last week, before competing in the NCAA Mideast Regionals at the University of Louisville last weekend. Aballi wrapped up a stellar Tiger career last weekend at the NCAA Mideast Regional, finishing 12th in the shot put. She was the C-USA indoor champion in the shot this spring and graduated in May with a degree in communications. A native of Holon, Israel, Aballi graduated with a 3.80 GPA in communication.
