MEMPHIS - Memphis throwers Gail Lee and Steffen Nerdal will represent the Tiger track and field team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif., starting Wednesday.

Nerdal will kickoff his first ever championship appearance Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the men's hammer throw. The Norwegian will look to better his school record mark of at from the Mideast Regional in order to advance to the finals on Friday.

Lee will not compete until Thursday when she participates in the opening round of the women's shot put. The finals of the event are slated for Saturday. This will be the two-time All-American's final shot at a national title.

"This is exciting for both of them," Robinson said. "For Steffen, it is his first time at this meet and for Gail this is the last one. I think both them are ready to go."
