Track and Field Adds Two Assistant Coaches

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-The University of Memphis track and field program has added two new assistant coaches, head track and field coach Kevin Robinson announced on Friday. Lisa-Marie Matthews and David Queckwill join the coaching staff with both assuming duties with jump and multi-event athletes.
A former U of M track and field athlete (under her maiden name Hyman), Matthews returns to her alma-matter after a seven year stint as girl's head track and field coach and teacher at White Station Middle School in Memphis, Tenn. The Kingston, Jamaica native holds a B.S. and M.S. in mathematical sciences from the University of Memphis.
A two-time Conference USA champion in the outdoor triple jump and C-USA indoor champion in the triple jump, Matthews became one of the most decorated Lady Tiger track athletes in school history during her time at the U of M. She still holds the school records for the indoor (13.23m, 42'7") and outdoor (12.67m, 41'7") triple jump. A two-time NCAA Regional qualifier, Matthews reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2005 and was named to the ESPN All-America Team.
Queck joins the coaching staff after serving as a volunteer coach with the Tigers in 2013 assisting with the sprinters. Prior to Memphis, Queck served in a in a similar capacity with Southern Miss. While with the Golden Eagles, the Annadale, Minn., native assisted in coaching two athletes ranked in the top-25 in the world in the 100-meter-dash and three All-Conference USA sprinters.
Before his time at Southern Miss, Queck was a two-sport standout at St. Cloud University in Minnesota, where he lettered two years in football as a wide receiver and four in track and field, competing in the 100m and 200m sprints and 400m run. While at St. Cloud, he also was part of the 4 x 100m relay team that won the conference championship.
Queck earned all-conference honors three times during his collegiate career. He received his bachelor's degree from St. Cloud University in broadcast journalism with a coaching minor and holds a MS degree from Southern Miss in coaching education.
