MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's and women's cross country teams travel to Little Rock, Ark. to compete in the UALR Open, on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Last year, both the men's and women's teams placed fifth at the UALR Open. This is the second meet of the cross country season for the Tigers and Lady Tigers and the last one before returning home for a two meet stretch in Memphis.

Anneli Uys led the women's side, last week at the Old Timers Classic where she placed 24th in the 5k race with a time of 18:46.24. Right behind her was senior Emily Malinowski who clocked a time of 19:02.41 to finish 30th.

On the men's side, sophomore Jorgen Ekdahl finished the 8k race in a time of 27:39.33. Junior Juan Arboleda was the second Tiger to cross the line in a time of 28:06.21.
