Clarksville, Tenn. - The University of Memphis women's cross country team travels to Clarksville, Tenn., on Saturday for the running of the 2001 Austin Peay Cross Country Invitational. Memphis is one of 13 women's teams in the field .

Other participating schools include Arkansas St., Austin Peay, Campbellsville, Cumberland, Evansville, Lee, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, Murray St., Southeast Missouri, Spalding, UT-Martin and Vanderbilt.

The women finished sixth last weekend at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. They defeated four of the teams that are participating this weekend in Clarksville. The Lady Tigers won the Arkansas St./Pepsi Invitational two weeks ago in Jonesboro, Ark.. Wendy Ragle posted the best time last weekend for Memphis with a 21st place finish.

This is the Lady Tigers' last meet before the Conference USA Championships set for October 27 in Greenville, N.C.
