MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The men's and women's cross country teams will be competing at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27. The men's 8k race will start at 10:30 CT, with the women's race to follow at 11:30 CT.

"I am excited about this weekend," said Coach Mike Power. "We have a very young group of guys and ladies this year. I don't expect them to go out there and be experienced runners, but I do expect them to fair well. We have been training hard and have run some good races this season. They have been getting better all year, I hope that they go there and believe in what they have done."

The Tigers will be sending a young squad to conference this year. The men's team will be compiled of five newcomers and one senior. Sam James will be the veteran of the squad as he is the only returning male runner from last year's squad. He will be joined by a pair of two newcomers, Jacob Chapman and Jorgen Ekdahl, who have put on a strong end of the season effort in helping to lead the Tigers.

Emily Malinowski will be leading the Lady Tigers on Saturday. As the only returning runner from last year, she will look to improve on her time from last year, and lead the Lady Tigers to an impressive finish. She is joined by four newcomers who will round out the Lady Tiger pack.
