NCAA South Region Championship

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-The postseason continues for the University of Memphis cross country squads, on Friday, at the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championship hosted by FSU. The Memphis women hit the trail first at 7:30 a.m. (CT) for the 6K, followed by the men in the 10K at 8:15 a.m.

The men are coming off their best Conference USA Cross Country Championship effort finishing fourth at the league finale on October 29. In the most recent USTFCCCA South Region Ranking, the men rank 10th with Florida A&M (9), Mississippi State (8), Auburn (7), Tennessee (6), Georgia Tech (5), East Tennessee State (4), Florida (3), Georgia (2) and FSU (1) rounding out the top-10.

The group is led by All-C-USA performers James Maglasang and Daniel Kuhman, who took 13th and 14th-place respectively at the league championship. Kuhman tallied three top-10 finishes during the 2012 season, with Maglasang earning an individual win at the Rhodes College Invitational.

For the women, senior Louisa Lingley continues to lead the pack. In her first three meets of the season, Lingley brought home two top-10 finishes including her individual win at the Rhodes College Invitational. The women's squad has two top-10 overall finishes, including a team win at the Rhodes College Invitational.

Both squads will go head to head with nationally and regionally ranked programs at Friday's regional. Nationally ranked men's teams No. 23 FSU and No. 26 Georgia will be on the course. On the women's side, No 1 FSU and No. 14 Florida will take to the trail.
