Memphis, Tenn. - Three high school track stars have signed with the University of Memphis, according to head women's track coach, Brenda Cash. The three have combined to win seven state championships in their high school careers.

Heading the list is Josetta Brooks of Glencliff High School in Nashville. Brooks won the Tennessee state championship last spring in three events - the 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the 4 x 100 meter relay. She won the 2000 Tennessee state championship in the 100 meter hurdles and was a member of the 1999 4 x 200 state championship team. Brooks was selected by The Tennessean as the 2001 Mid-state Female Track Athlete of the Year.

LeKeshua Solomon Scales of Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro will join the Lady Tigers next year as well. Scales won the Tennessee state title in the 200 meter dash this past spring and was also on the state champion 4 x 400 meter relay team. She was named the M.V.P. at the Vanderbilt Great 8 Invitational.

Lindsay Cole of Siloam Springs High in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, has also signed with Memphis. She finished fifth in the Arkansas state championships in the high jump last season. The six-footer, according to Cash, has potential to develop into an outstanding collegiate high jumper.
