Altrese Hawkins led Memphis with 12 kills and a .385 attack percentage, but that was the lone bright spot for the Tigers in a tough straight-set loss to Northern Illinois Saturday afternoon at the UIC 2010 Invite. The loss snaps a four-match win streak for Memphis, who falls to 3-2 on the year.

Memphis struggled to find a rhythm on either side of the net, hitting just .036 and giving up a robust .345 average to the Huskies. Northern Illinois posted 18 more kills than Memphis and aced the Tigers 11 times. Hajnalka Molnar dished out 18 assists.

Vesna Jelic led the U of M with 11 digs. Christine Bach added 10 digs.

Memphis will wrap up play in the UIC 2010 Invite at 5 p.m., when it meets Kennesaw State.
