BOSTON - The University of Memphis volleyball team (11-4, 0-0 C-USA) extended its season-best winning streak to seven matches with a 3-1 win over host Boston College in the finale of the Boston College Tournament, Saturday. Game scores were 30-28, 24-30, and 30-22.

The Tigers, who had downed Gardner-Webb 3-0 earlier in the day, got 18 kills from sophomore Tiara Gilkey (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonsville) and 17 from junior Brittany Barnett (Dallas, Texas/Lake Highlands). Barnett, who garnered tournament MVP honors at Yale's tournament last weekend, added nine digs and three total blocks in the win. Sophomore Heather Watts (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) led the defense with 18 digs, while senior Brooke Chrisman (Katy, Texas/Katy) and junior Shella Neba (Aurora, Colorado/St. Mary's) led the defense with five total blocks apiece.

The Tigers travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to face Dartmouth, Sunday, at 7 p.m. before embarking on nine-day break in the volleyball schedule.

In the Gardner-Webb match, junior Brittany Barnett (Dallas, Texas/Lake Highlands) led the Tigers with 19 kills. Four Tigers tallied double digit digs in the win, led by Barnett's 14. Freshman Lauren Berg (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) had 13 digs, while Tiara Gilkey (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonsville) and Heather Watts (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) each had 12 digs in the win. Watts led the offense with 40 assists, while freshman Ashley Green (Indianapolis, Ind./Brebeuf) led the team with three service aces.
