UTEP's Kari Stacy led all players with 18 kills and Brooke Peugh added 10 kills to go along with 10 Miner service aces as UTEP earned a sweep of Memphis Friday in Conference-USA action. Memphis falls to 15-13 overall and 6-5 in C-USA play, while UTEP improves to 16-9, 6-6 in league play.

Fehi Tuivai finished the night with a Memphis-best 14 kills and a .565 attack percentage. The senior hammered seven kills in the first game. Memphis posted higher totals in hitting percentage (.259-.199), blocks (8.0-5.0) and digs (53-51), but committed 11 errors at the service line to go with the Miners' 10 aces.

UTEP setter Jamie Swift quarterbacked the Miner offense with 41 assists, while libero Brittany Stowers anchored the defense with 18 digs.

Christen Clayton led all performers with 20 digs, while Tuivai had four blocks. Other Tigers notables were Colette Ramirez, who hit .417 with six kills in a reserve roll. Shelby Burton downed nine kills and committed just one error to hit .400. Freshman Sarah Bury provided a spark off the bench, downing a career-high six kills and making three digs.

Memphis will now turn its sights to Sunday, when the Tigers host Tulane in the final home match of the season. Tiger seniors Kristen Hardee, Nancy Nellans and Fehi Tuivai will be honored in their final home contest. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
