MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis volleyball program and head coach April Jauregui has announced the hire of Kallie Noble as the new assistant coach. Noble joins the program after spending the last two years as the head coach for the University of St. Thomas volleyball team.
“Kallie brings with her a wealth of knowledge about the game and will have a pivotal role in our setter training and offensive systems,” Jauregui said. “Having been a head coach for the past two years Kallie has an immense insight on the demands of building a program. Her spirit, energy, work ethic and passion for the game will mesh extremely well with our team culture and staff personality. Kallie also brings recruiting ties to the Texas area that will help us in continuing to build a championship culture here at Memphis.”
During her two years with the Celts, the team had a 29-33 record overall, while going 16-7 on their home court and 16-9 in conference play. Prior to helming the NAIA St. Thomas Celts, Noble served as an assistant coach for Tulane University for three years, contributing to their 2009 NCAA tournament appearance. While with the Green Wave, she also served as the recruiting coordinator. Before Tulane, Noble spent a year each as the assistant coach with Lincoln Memorial University and University of New Orleans.
“I would like to thank both Head Coach Jauregui and the Memphis Athletic department for the opportunity to be part of the Tiger volleyball program,” Noble said. “I am very excited to work with this group of young student-athletes who are looking to make an impact in the American Athletic Conference this upcoming season. There is a tremendous amount of potential for this program to continue to grow and I look forward to what we can accomplish in the coming season.”
Noble most recently coached the Willowbrook 18 red club team that just qualified for the Junior National Tournament, currently with eight players that have collegiate commitments and featuring incoming Tiger freshman hitter Oluchi Agomuo.
