On July 1, the University of Memphis officially became a member of the American Athletic Conference. Beginning July 8, GoTigersGo.com brings a daily introduction of each sport at the University of Memphis to the American Athletic Conference. The Memphis volleyball program has seen two student-athletes earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, including current head coach April Jauregui. Formerly April Harriman, she earned Academic All-American honors in 2000 while Heather Watts was an Academic All-American selection in 2003 and 2004.

Players in 1,000 Kill Club
Two members of the 2012 roster increased the number to 22 players in program history to reach 1,000 kills in their respective careers.
Monique Swaby (1992-95) held the program record for career kills with 1,789 until Altrese Hawkins passed it in 2012.
