Athletic Media Relations Office Garners Four CoSIDA Awards

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - The University of Memphis Athletic Media Relations Office (AMR) capped the 2009-2010 season with four honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Included in those four awards were two awards for Best Media Guide Covers (women's basketball and baseball).
The Memphis AMR office won two awards for the nation's "Best Cover". The 2009-2010 women's basketball cover was designed by Brandon Kolditz and Tammy DeGroff and the cover photo was shot by Joe Murphy of Joe Murphy Photography. The 2010 baseball cover, which featured the brand-new entrance to FedExPark, was designed by Brandon Kolditz and Jason Redd and was also photographed by Joe Murphy. Memphis was one of just five schools in the country to win multiple "Best Cover" Awards. Kentucky (cross country, women's golf, swimming, track and field) and Virginia (lacrosse, single sport-field hockey, softball, tennis) each won four cover awards while Oklahoma (football, men's golf, women's gymnastics) won three cover honors. Memphis and Texas (special event programs, volleyball) rounded out the multiple award winners.
In the media guide category, the men's soccer guide was ranked fourth in the nation and the volleyball guide ranked second in the nation. The soccer guide was designed by Mark Taylor, Shawn Smith and Brandon Kolditz, while the volleyball guide was designed by Jason Redd and Brandon Kolditz.
The AMR office has also launched a University of Memphis YouTube page. Since launching the page just over two months ago, the AMR office has produced 61 videos that have been viewed over 14,000 times.
