INDIANAPOLIS - Outside hitter Altrese Hawkins may have completed her career at the University of Memphis, but she continues to collect awards for her senior year as Thursday afternoon she was named the Conference USA honoree for the 2013 NCAA Woman of the Year.

Hawkins had already been named All-Conference USA first team for her senior season, marking the third straight year she'd been named first team all-conference. She was also named to the Senior CLASS Award's All-American second team.

Hawkins set the school record for most career kills, becoming the first Tiger in program history to pass the 1,800 kill mark, finishing with 1,806. During the 2012 campaign, she led the team with 456 kills, averaging 3.77 per set. She finished second on the team with 289 digs in 2012.

The NCAA will announce the top-30 finalists and the winner of the National Woman of the Year award on Oct. 20. Each school nominated one female student-athlete to its affiliated conference. The conference then selected on nominee to represent the league.
