Heather Watts Named C-USA's First Ever Setter of the Week

Senior setter Heather Watts was named Setter of the Week as announced by Conference USA on Tuesday. Watts receives the league's first-ever Setter of the Week honor as the 2004 season marks the first for the weekly honor to be awarded.
Watts, the first All-C-USA preseason pick under heach coach Carrie Yerty, led Memphis to a 4-0 season-opening weekend and its second consecutive Memphis Invitational title. The Sandy, Utah native had 149 assists, 29 digs and 14 kills in the Tiger's four 3-0 victories over Tennesee State, Alabama A&M, Delaware State and UIC. She posted a match-high in assists in all four matches to go with a match-high 16 digs in the season-opening shutout of Tennessee State.
Memphis returns to the court on Wed., Sept. 8 when they face Weber State in a single match in Ogden, Utah. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start. The Tigers will then head to Provo, Utah to participate in the BYU Mizuno Classic hosted by BYU, Sept. 10-11. Memphis will play Oklahoma and BYU on Sept. 10 and will wrap up the road trip against UCF and Utah Valley State on Sept. 11.
