CHARLESTON, S.C. -- - The University of Memphis Tiger volleyball team evened their overall record at 2-2 with a 3-0 win over Mercer University in the College of Charleston Invitational, Friday.

The Tiger serving game and the depth of the Tiger bench found holes in the Mercer defense to win game one, 15-6.

Game two was again a dominant time for the Tiger servers, posting four service aces and sealing a 15-8 win on an assisted block from senior April Harriman and freshman Laura Stoke. Stoke played in her first match of the year after having to do additional rehab on an injured knee in the preseason.

Game three found the Tigers down 5-0 early before pulling ahead to a 9-8 lead after two service aces from junior Emily Eichmann. Mercer threatened, closing the gap to 11-10 on two service aces of their own before Harriman downed one of her 12 kills to side-out the Bears' serve. Ginger Garrett helped Memphis to a 13-10 lead on a service ace before Mercer missed on two attack attempts to finish the game, 15-10.

Memphis is 2-2 on the season and plays host College of Charleston, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. (ET) and South Carolina State at 11 a.m. (ET).
