Memphis, Tenn.-- - The University of Memphis Volleyball Team (4-2), will face three SEC and one BIG EAST opponent in the next six days.

The Tigers are in Knoxville to face a red-hot Tennessee team (5-1) which is coming off its first loss of the season to North Carolina, 3-1. The two foes will square off at 7 p.m. (ET), Monday. Tennessee won the only meeting between the two teams last season in the Field House, 3-1, after fighting off a Memphis comeback 16-14 win in game two.

The Lady Vols are 1-0 against C-USA members so far this season, having defeated Houston, 3-2, Friday.

Memphis returns home Tuesday and will prepare to host the Graphic Systems Classic in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The Tigers' tournament schedule opens against Mississippi State at noon, Friday.

Mississippi State won the meeting of the two teams last year, 3-1 as part of the Mississippi State Tournament.

The Tigers' evening match (7 p.m.) will feature BIG EAST member Syracuse, a team Memphis has not played since 1998, when the Tigers lost 3-1.

Unlike most tournaments, the Tigers will play four games at their own tournament. The Saturday schedule for Memphis begins at 2 p.m. when Memphis plays Nicholls State. The two opponents last played in 1996 and the series is tied at two matches apiece.

Memphis will wrap up the 2000 Graphic Systems classic with a 7:30 match against Ole Miss. The Rebels downed Memphis, 3-1, in Oxford last season. This will be the 62nd meeting between the two teams, with Memphis holding a slight edge (31-30) in the series.
