NEW ORLEANS - Just two days after a hard-fought victory over Southern Miss, the Tigers came out strong in game one of the match, defeating the Green Wave, 15-9. But it would be Tulane that would get the upperhand as they would defeat the Tigers, 15-6 and 15-8 in games one and two. Memphis did not let up, boasting a 15-9 victory in the fourth game, and Tulane garnered the match title with the 15-13 victory in the final game of rally scoring.

Rosie Glenn, Ginger Garrett and April Harriman all led the Tiger hitting efforts with 15 kills apiece, while Amie Hamilton led in defense with 19 digs. Also totaling double-figure digs were Glenn and Garrett. Freshman Sarah Wengler recorded 12 kills and two solo blocks.

Tulane's Kim Sentmore and Lacey Vicknair powered the Lady Wave with 24 kills and 22 kills, respectively. Sentmore hit a match-high .380 with her 24 kills and just five errors in 50 total attempts. She also recorded 10 digs and a block assist.

The Tigers will travel to Tampa, Fla., this week for the Conference USA volleyball championship. The tournament runs, Nov. 18-21, and the pairings should be announced by the league office on Monday.
