Southaven's Brach Davis Signs with Memphis
Nov. 22, 2004 MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - Head coach Daron Schoenrock announced the signing of yet another local standout as Southaven High's Brach Davis has signed with Memphis. Davis is the 10th recruit to sign with the Tigers this season. A former teammate of current Tiger freshman, KK Chalmers, Davis earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-State recognition in his prep career at Southaven High. Davis is a versatile player, seeing time on the hill, at first base and in the outfield for the Chargers. A four-year letter winner at Southaven, the southpaw hit .337 with six homers and 32 RBI as a junior. He showed his versatility, going 7-0 and maintained a 1.14 ERA on the mound with 81 strikeouts in just 49 innings of work. His junior campaign was highlighted by a 16-strikeout performance against Northwest Rankin in the 2004 State Playoffs.
"We are so excited with Brach's decision to become a Tiger," said Schoenrock. "He is one of the best baseball players in the area and will make a huge impact on this program."
