Dec. 2009 Edition of CORBA Volleyball Magazine

After putting together on of the most prolific offensive seasons by a Memphis volleyball freshman and garnering 2009 C-USA All-Freshman honors, Tiger outside hitter Altrese Hawkins was highlighted in the December 2009 edition of COBRA Volleyball Online Magazine.

Hawkins led Memphis with 335 kills and a .282 attack percentage in her rookie campaign and became just the sixth Tiger freshman to ever reach 300 kills in a season. Her kills totals rank fourth on Memphis' freshman kills list. The online magazine noted Hawkins, who downed 10 or more kills in 18 matches, for her strong outing versus East Carolina in the Tiger's lone nationally televised match on November 6. In that contest, Hawkins posted a match-high 21 kills and hit a powerful .581 attack percentage to lead Memphis to a 3-1 win.
