MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The honors continue to roll in for junior setter Heather Watts. The Sandy, Utah, native earned honorable mention honors to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Midwest Region Team, Wednesday.

The honor is the fourth post-season honor for Watts this year. She was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team after finishing second in the league in assists per game (13.27/game) and setting a new school record with 1,792 single season assists. Already second in school history in career assists (3,376), Watts is also in the career top 10 in service aces (148) and should move into the top 10 next season in digs (1,025). She was also one of two Tigers named to the C-USA All-Tournament team after helping the Tigers to their first-ever appearance in the C-USA championship finals. Watts capped her junior season by earning Third Team Academic All-America honors last week.

Watts is the first-ever Tiger to earn all-region honors under Head Coach Carrie Yerty. She was just the second volleyball player in the program's history to earn Academic All-American honors and was the second Tiger student-athlete to earn third team honors this fall.

Watts was one of 11 C-USA student-athletes to be named to either the regional team or to earn honorable mention honors. Cincinnati's Julie DuPont and Laura Lauder, Tulane's Deva Fowler, USF's Shameka Mitchell and Louisville's Sonja Percan, Bing Sun and Lena Ustymenko made up the Midwest All-Region team. Marquette's Theresa Coughlin, Cincinnati's Myanna Hellsten and Watts all earned honorable mention. Hellsten was also named the All-Midwest Region Freshman of the Year.

Watts is the daughter of Kurt and Sue Watts.
