Green and Windham Sign NLIs With Memphis Football

Blake and Fairman also join the roster as mid-year enrollees.
MEMPHIS – Junior college defensive backs Marcus Green (Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill HS) and Tito Windham (Gulfport, Miss./Harrison Central) have signed National Letters of Intent with the University of Memphis it was announced by Head Coach Mike Norvell, Wednesday.
Norvell also announced that Sanchez Blake and Coye Fairman have joined the Memphis program as mid-year enrollees.
Green comes to Memphis from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he was a second team all-Southwest Junior College Football Conference honoree last season. Playing under coach Clay Patterson, Green finished second on the team with 55 solo tackles, adding seven pass breakups. A 6-2, 190-pound defensive back, Green played at Oklahoma as a redshirt freshman in 2015, appearing in eight games.
In his prep career at Cedar Hill HS, Green recorded 44 tackles, one interception and five pass breakups in his senior season, earning a spot in the Semper Fidelis All-American game.
Windham comes to Memphis from Northwest Mississippi CC. There, he was a second team All-MACJC honoree in 2015 after starting the final 11 games and finishing with 33 tackles, an interception, a fumble recovery and a team-best 10 pass breakups. A Preseason MACJC All-Gridiron honoree this year, Windham helped the Rangers to a 9-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in MACJC play. As a sophomore, he finished with 34 tackles, including 25 solos and one tackle for loss. He added three interceptions, 13 passes defended and forced two fumbles.
A 5-9, 180-pound defensive back from Gulfport, Miss., Windham originally signed at Oklahoma, where he redshirted his freshman season. In Mississippi, Windham played at Harrison Central HS under coach Steve Jones. He tallied 44 tackles, 33 of them solos, as a junior and earned a spot in the Semper Fidelis All-American game.
Fairman has enrolled at Memphis for the upcoming spring semester. A native of Humble, Texas, Fairman last played at Atascocita High School with his cousin, current Memphis running back Patrick Taylor. A 6-3, 190-pound wide receiver, Fairman appeared in 14 games at Atascocita as a senior, reeling in 80 catches for 1,375 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Blake is a 6-0, 190 pound cornerback from nearby Olive Branch, Miss., and Olive Branch High School. He earned a spot on the Mississippi All-Star team and in his senior season, finished with 110 total tackles, including 41 solos, adding 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and one blocked punt and one blocked field goal.
The mid-year NLI signing period, which started Wednesday, runs through January 15th.
Memphis will continue its bowl preparations in town Thursday and Friday before flying to Boca Raton Friday afternoon. Memphis, playing in its third consecutive bowl for the second time in school history, will face two-time defending Conference USA champions, Western Kentucky, Tuesday, Dec. 20th at 6 p.m. (CT) on ESPN.
