Topalovic wraps up 2018 recruiting class for Memphis.
MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's tennis team rounded out its early signing class with the addition of Aleksandra (Aleks) Topalovic, from London, England, Thursday. Topalovic joins Leonarda Janko and Hannah Davies in the early signing period for Memphis.
"Today is a great day for Tiger Tennis, having Aleks sign with us completes our recruiting class for 2018 and she will fit in well with the team," Head Coach Hayden Perez said. "Aleks is committed to developing as a tennis player and with her tremendous work ethic, I am very confident she will help our program grow in the coming years."
Topalovic won the Women's Division and the 18 and under division at the St. Georges Hill Open and her team came in third in the Aegon Team Tennis Premier Finals. She also won the Gosling winter regionals and brings a wealth of international playing experience on the ITF circuit, including a semifinal appearance at a Grade 4 tournament.
"I want to thank Assistant Coach Ryan Haymond for his efforts in recruiting Aleks," Perez said. "He took a lead role and I don't want his efforts to go unnoticed."
Memphis will finish its fall semester classes in early December and the team will break for the semester before returning in January to open dual season play. Memphis will open its spring schedule with a doubleheader against UAB (10 a.m.) and UT Martin (7 pm) on January 19th at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
