Tigers Begin NCAA Regional Play Monday in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Memphis men's golf team is heading to Columbus for the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals that begin on Monday, May 18 and conclude on Wednesday, May 20 at The Ohio State University Golf Club.
Ohio State will host the three-day, 54-hole competition that features one round each day with all three days being broadcast on Babygrande. A link to the broadcast and the live leaderboard can be accessed in the links above.
The Tigers are coming off a strong performance at the American Conference Championships, finishing second overall with a score of 31-under-par 833. Diego Lourenco made history by becoming the first Tiger to win the individual title at the American Championships since the program joined the league.
Cian O'Connor and Christian Morneau followed, sharing a piece of 14th place at 4-under par. Yixiang Wang rounds out the lineup after finishing 19th at 3-under par.
The last regional appearance for the Tigers was at the Athens Regional in 2019 after claiming the American Conference title. Memphis finished eighth in that regional.
This is the third time during head coach Blake Smart's tenure that the Tigers have qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Memphis has not played on the Scarlet Course since 1970, when the Tigers advanced to the NCAA Championships and finished seventh overall.
