Angelia Rodriguez joined the Memphis Athletic Department in June 2024 as an athletic training fellow and moved into her current role as an assistant athletic trainer in September 2024. In her role, she oversees the day-to-day athletic training needs of the softball and spirit squad programs.Â
Most recently, Rodriguez served as a graduate athletic trainer at Purdue before a long-term rotation in athletic training with women's basketball at Tennessee. She also had short-term rotations with the University of Tennessee's volleyball program, Franciscan Health, Lafayetter Central Catholic High School, North Montgomery High School and Purdue's women's basketball and women's soccer programs.Â
While working as a student athletic trainer at Florida State, Rodriguez spent time with the football, men's basketball and women's basketball programs.Â
Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Florida State and a master's degree in athletic training from Purdue. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association and Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society.
A native of Miami, Fla. with Colombian and Cuban heritage, Rodriguez now resides in Memphis and has a retired racing greyhound named Rodeo.Â
