Volleyball Falls in Three at League-Leading Temple

PHILADELPHIA – Catlin Lilly and Oluchi Agumuo each downed seven kills, but Memphis (10-5, 1-1 American) could not slow down league-leading Temple (12-3, 3-0 American), Friday. The loss gives the Tigers back-to-back losses for the first time this season and drops the team to 1-2 in league play with another road game at UConn coming up Sunday.
Kirsten Overton and Tyler Davis each downed 13 kills for Temple. Overton, the defending offensive player of the week in the league, hit .722 in the match to keep the Owls unbeaten in league play at 3-0.
Veronica Zimmerman returned to the lineup for Memphis after missing the East Carolina game with an injury and led Memphis with 27 assists. Lindsey Purvis added 15 digs in the loss.
Memphis plays at UConn, Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. (ET).
